You are a star.

When you were born a star appeared. That was why people came to see you to behold your greatness. All of a sudden you were forgotten, no one talks about you, no one cares to know you, why? Your star is missing, it has been dimmed and no one seems to recognize your relevance.

Take a look at what happened on the day Jesus was born.

Matthew 2:2 says, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him”.

Is it not a mystery that Jesus was located by a star? The wise men as the Scripture called them never heard of Him, read of Him or studied any prophecy about Him. They were probably magicians, astrologers or philosophers who must have been seeing or understanding heavenly bodies over time. So when they saw the star of Jesus they knew it was totally different from other stars they had seen and decided to go on a journey of discovery.

Balaam also saw the Star in a vision.

Numbers 24:17 says, “I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; a Star shall come out Jacob….”.

Revelation 22:16 called Him, “the Bright and Morning star”.

Without the stars the wise men wouldn’t have located Jesus. Why did God use the star to lead them to Jesus. Stars were the sign of His coming. The devil saw the star of Jesus and struggled to devour Him immediately He was born (Revelation 12:1-4). For this reason war broke out in heaven.

Let me tell you, before you were born the devil saw your star and decided to destroy it. Your mother laboured in pain between life and death just to bring you into this world. That is why you are passing through a lot of battles because the enemy has vowed to stop you. You’re already in a battle. The good news is, you’re unstoppable.

Stars bring out illumination, they shine as light in the night. You’re meant to shine in your destiny, you’re meant to make a difference, you’re meant to radiate your world. You have a great Star in you. Showcase it in case you don’t know that you have it.

When you shine in your ministry, academics, profession, career, talent or gift, people will certainly look for you no matter where you are, no matter your country or the colour of your skin. You’re a star. Don’t allow the situations of life to dim you, don’t allow the ups and downs of life to make you lose focus on your stardom. Be a star for Christ, be a star in your generation, be a star in your work, be a star in your business, be a star in whatever you do and never forget that stars are always above, they twinkle all the time and they never stop shinning.

  1. Like you mentioned, the devil will indeed try to dim our light but another thing for us to remember, is that the shining of another’s star in no way reduces our own. In today’s world, the sight of other’s shining star causes envy rather than enjoyment and it shouldn’t be this way! As a race, we need to learn to join people as they rejoice and assist them when they are burdened too

  2. “Stars bring out illumination, they shine as light in the night.” I got a revelation from this sentence you made. Stars don’t shine during the day. They shine at night. The dark times of life is when our stars should shine more. This is when people begin to ask why we are happy when we should be depressed. Why we are excelling when nothing should be working for us. Why we go against the statistics and still do well. Trails are met to give us an opportunity to shine.

Also to see a star, you have to look up. So others are to look up to us as we shine brightly in darkness. As they look at us, they are to see Jesus shinning through us. We are to be examples to others by the way we live our lives. We are different and unique.

The world is dark. But darkness shouldn’t overcome our brightness.

    God bless you my bro.

  3. True the devil knows when a super star is born. One that is going to be a threat to his kingdom but the good news which is the confidence we have is that Jesus has conquered the devil and has given us the power to be what He called us to be.
