Please, you have overstayed, move on.

How can you be doing something over and over again and not getting results and you are still bent on doing it? Please, I am not talking about being consistent to achieve results, I am talking about being consistent without knowledge.

You have been using the same old method to make your marriage work, to convince your group that you can do the job, putting all your efforts to show you can make up for your mistakes, overworking yourself to prove a point that you are now a changed person. You have been dwelling on the same means of improving your designs, art work, business, ministry, tourism, academic results, spiritual life or lifestyle, yet, you are not getting results. I want to tell you to stop wasting your energy and move on. Move on with a new dimension.

Deuteronomy 1:6 says, “The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: ‘You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.”

God spoke to Moses to tell the children of Israel to move on, to march on, that they had overstayed their welcome. Isn’t it clear that they stayed in Horeb for so long until God commanded them to move forward? They lacked knowledge on what to do and because of that they wasted their time in one place.

Horeb means dryness. It means they were dry in ideas, inspiration and revelation. Nothing was working. They were consistently inconsistent in their journey without knowledge. They were stagnant and tired of marching forward.

Did somebody break your heart? Forgive the person and move on. Did your parents, spouse or friend fail you? Move on. You lost a beloved one or something dear to you, move on. Have you failed in your walk with God? Ask Him for help and move on. Probably you had disappointed your family, tell them you are sorry, move on. Have you failed yourself? Make corrections and move on.

You can’t be dwelling in the past. Change the ones you can change and pray for God to change the ones you cannot change.

We are in the eleventh month of the year and it was exactly the eleventh month God told Moses to move on (Deut. 1:3). In this month, I urge you to change focus, change your mindset, change your your spiritual level to a higher level.

  2. Very true, if you do not change our approach, we get the same results. I learnt this when i put myself in the part of constant hurt. Until i learn to prioritize i was constantly hurt but now no more, wisdom is at work in my dealings

      1. You’re blessed Evangelist Chilavert. Do keep on blogging, motivating, changing life, and succeeding.

  3. I am sure it was no coincidence that I came across your post because I just had a week of people disappointing me and I couldn’t help but feel hurt about it. I prayed for God’s guidance and to help me to forgive, but I am still human and it’s hard to simply turn off feelings and move on. I’m still learning, but my hope is that I will turn to the bible enough times to know better than to feel this way during times like these.

  4. True indeed! Sometimes we have to walk away or move on from some things and people. Not to say that we walk away every time things get rough but there are definitely times that God can be trying to tell us to move on and that’s ok! Thanks so much for this awesome post!
