People who are growing in God all share one common trait; they attract criticism. Criticism is a compliment when you are doing what you know you are supposed to do right. I was reading a cover story on Billy Graham in Time Magazine and was not surprised to find out several criticisms of him from fellow ministers. Then I was reminded of the fact: all great people get great criticism. Learn to accept and expect that you will experience unjust and just critisms for your God-given goals and accomplishments.
If you are doing anything and you are not criticized check yourself, something is wrong somewhere. No matter how you do good, help people, relate in love, preach or work tirelessly in your company you must be criticized. Everybody can’t be happy with you and if you don’t know how to handle criticisms you will miss the mark. If you know how to handle criticisms then you make them to publicize you.
In Matthew 10: 25, Jesus said to His disciples, “……… If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household”.
Jesus was mocked, criticized, gossiped and slandered. They twisted the miracles of Jesus, they published fake news against Him, the Pharisees condemned His good deeds, the scribes posted unfounded stories just to sale their tabloids. There was too much propaganda against Him. Yet in all those things, the more they criticized Him the more they publicized Him.
You do the work of God with diligence they criticize you. You come to work early to make sure you do a good job they criticize you. You distance yourself from bad friends they make jest of you. You win an award they castigate you. Your blog brings you to limelight they drag your name to the mud. You win souls for Christ they ridicule you. There is nothing on earth that is not criticized be it good or bad. So why waste your time replying critics? They enjoy it when you start exchanging words with them.
It is beneficial to receive constructive critism from those who have your best interest at heart, but you are not responsible to respond to those who don’t. It is a thousand times easier to criticize than create. That’s why critics are never problem solvers. Don’t waste your time responding to your critics because you owe them nothing.
When they criticize you they publicize you. When they publicize you they can no longer minimize you.
