I have discovered over time that God can ask you to do anything. It will look so disgusting to do but His will and not your will must be done.
God can ask you to leave your father’s house, country or your loved ones for a reason just like he told Abraham and he obeyed (Genesis 12:1).
God can make you lose your job for you to get a better one. He can bring obstacles in your way to save your life. God can make you separate from your best friend just to make you focus. God can destroy the business you have laboured to build just to show you a business that you would do and have peace of mind. God can stop that breakthrough from coming so early just to draw you closer to Himself. God can even allow that medical issue to continue just to make you pray more. God doesn’t really derive joy from it but He sometimes uses it to bring us closer to Himself.
In 1 Samuel 1:5 says, ” …. although the Lord has closed her womb”.
God shut the womb of Hannah for an appointed time. At last she gave birth to prophet Samuel. That is why God is God. You cannot judge Him or question Him. He makes everything to work for our good (Romans 8:28).
That was exactly what God did when He asked prophet Hosea to marry a harlot. How can you describe that?
Hosea 1:2 says, “When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea: “Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry by departing from the Lord”.
God asked him to do it but not to humiliate him. God was using it as a symbolic nature of how Israel abandoned Him.
One thing you need to know is that you have to be sure God asked you to do it. If you do it out of ignorance or carnality you will have yourself to blame.
What has God asked you to do but you refused because you think you can’t just do it? Do you know God can frustrate you because you refused to obey Him, for example, He frustrated Jonah when he disobeyed to go to Nineveh.
God gave you freewill but He never told you your will is better His will. If you don’t obey the will of God get ready for the wheel of uncertainty.
I pray may God’s will prevail in your life. Amen.
