It is a risk not to take a risk.

There are times when you look at death eyeball to eyeball and decide whether to die or live. Especially when your enemy is behind it.

“All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days” (Esther 4:11).

These were the words of queen Esther to Mordecai when Haman had plotted to convince the king to kill all the Jews because of Mordecai. He made her to understand that when the death sentence will be pronounced she will not escape it. What happened? Esther decided to take a risk. She asked the Jews to fast and pray. She rose, put on her royal robe, packaged herself and decided to go to the king which is against the law, she said, “If I perish, I perish!”. Meaning she decided to confront death even if she dies fighting for her life.

That risk alone changed the hands of history. Haman and his family were hanged instead. The Jews were saved just because somebody stood and said, “ NO”. Stand up for your country, stand up for your family, stand up for your company, stand up for your generation, stand up against oppression, stand up for God.

To be a believer is not to be timid. There are times you go against the law. There are times you decide your fate in a second and have no choice than to confront the enemy. The enemy is always planning to cut your destiny short. You need to face every adversity and adversary with a fearless heart.

The Jews feared God, they prayed and reversed the impending danger. Seventy five thousand of their enemies died for their sake (Esther 9:16). Is that not alarming?

When you fear God every other thing fears you. Don’t ever succumb to defeat. Stand up against anything that wants to humiliate you. Never give chance to those horrible challenges of life. Never allow your misfortunes to demoralize you. You are more than a conqueror. There is light at the end of the tunnel but the beginning of the tunnel is always dark. The dark moments define you.

  1. Awesome post! I love the story of Esther! It is so true that we often have to take risks in life but really if you think about it, when you are specifically following the call of God it’s actually not a risk. Sure we may not be able to conceive in our minds how that plan God gave us is going to work out, but if God ordered it you know it will be fruitful, evening if it takes years o manifest! It actually only seems like a risk because we allow fear to get in the way of what God has already told us to do…Great job my friend!
